OUR DREAMS
OUR STUDIO IS ABOUT CONNECTION, ACCEPTANCE, INSPIRATION, EXPRESSION, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...LOVE.
Connection – As dancers, we grow together and must learn to work as one to feel the same rhythms, emotions, and energy. For this to be achieved, it takes a lot of patience & understanding, and in doing so, strong bonds & relationships are made. We connect to the movement, the music, the stories… but most importantly, one another.
Acceptance – The dance world can be a very exclusive place, where a lot of people may not feel accepted. That is NOT the environment we have at DMSD. We accept all dancers who are willing to work hard and want to improve on their dance technique & skills.
Inspiration – We are not only inspired by the music, but by one another. We constantly strive to get better with every step & movement we make. We don’t tear each other down and compete to see who’s better… we raise one another up with support & encouragement. We offer guidance to help each other reach their goals. We see hardships as only obstacles that we will conquer and overcome to make us that much better.
Expression – The world can be a very difficult place to live in and getting harder every day. The way we dancers cope is through our movement. Many places want you to leave your problems at the door, and not allow them to show. That is not the case here. We welcome you to be yourself and put that stress right on the dance floor. This freeing, unrestrictive experience allows dancers to not hold back, and be able to grow to their fullest extent not only as a dancer, but as the person they are meant to be.
Love – We are not just a dance studio, but a family. Our teachers, staff, dancers, and families are all one cohesive group, and we are the DMSD Family. We all love one another, and love what we do, but most importantly, we all love what brings us all together… our love for dance.

JULIE "MISS JULES" CALLAHAN
OWNER/STUDIO DIRECTOR
Julie fell in love with dance when she was 3 years old. Since then, the constant in her life has always remained to be that passion for dance. Like most dancers, she performed in many recitals, musicals, and other performances. She also competed in many competitions as well as participated in many conventions.
As much as she absolutely loved dancing, her interests started to evolve into instructing. It was in teaching where she truly found what she was destined to do. Julie has been choreographing & teaching since she was 14 years old. Her experience expanded in helping direct musicals, running dance programs, and teaching at several dance studios.
Along the way, Julie married her best friend, Tim, and brought 2 precious angels into the world, Mollie & Mikey. As much as she has treasured every moment being a dance instructor for the last 24 years, she longed to accomplish her dream of opening her own dance studio. That is where her next adventure begins, and where she is excited to share her journey with her dance family at: Dreams in Motion Studio of Dance.
